I believe that everyone should be treated with respect. Everyone should have the same rights and responsibilities. When I was in 7th grade I read a book that was based of a true story of an African American girl that was not treated with respect. During the whole book she got treated with less and less consideration. People did not treat her very pleasantly because of her own skin color. They thought that they were better than her. She was pushed down and stepped on by the people around her. Then one day she did not want to be treated like that anymore. African American’s were always supposed in the back of the bus but she was tired and did not want to move, so she sat in the front of the bus. Those other people on the bus did not treat her with any honor. They yelled at her and they shoved her. She went to jail because she sat in the front of the bus but she made a difference in other people’s lifes.  

After I read that book it really opened my eyes to see that not every single person in this world is look uponed the same. It is sad that not everyone can be treated the same. We are all living on earth together why can’t we all treat each other with appreciation? Is it because we are jealous? Is it because we don’t care? How can we all live on earth together but not get along? We can! It isn’t that hard. If everyone treats people the way they wanted to be treated this world would be more peaceful, kind, and friendlier place. Start will one person that you are normally not that kind to and do friendly things for them. You could hold the door open for them or tell them a compliment. One compliment can make that persons day. If everyone does one nice thing a day. The world would be a happier and a friendlier place if we all treated everyone with respect. This is why I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and kindness.
