9th Grade English

How should I use the 9th Grade English Class Page?  Check this page at the beginning of each week to see an overview of what's coming up in English and important links we'll use in class. This page is not a substitute for your planner, because it is only updated weekly. Your planner is edited on a daily basis based on how far we get in class. If this page contradicts your planner, your planner is correct!

What if the homework still says, "TBA"? Again, this page is updated at the beginning of the week as an overview. Homework is then filled in at the end of the week as I archive it. This means that during the week, this page might say "TBA" for homework. However, this should not be an issue for you because:

  1. The homework is written on the board at the beginning of every class.
  2. The first step of your warm-up every class is to write the homework in your planner.
  3. I check your planners at the end of every class.

This means you should never be using this page as a planner. That's not what it's for, and it won't work to try and use it that way.

I am planning my week's schedule in advance. How much time should I schedule for English homework?  Please plan 30-35 minutes for your English homework each night. You will have less homework on the weekends. The amount of homework you have often depends on how diligently you work during independent work times in class, but it should never surpass 45 minutes (unless you have special circumstances we've talked about). If your homework takes longer than 45 minutes to complete, stop and send me an email to let me know you're struggling.
