WWW.
Start reading Crucial Conversations, a summary about how to discuss touchy issues in a professional, productive, and satisfying way. You will need to have this read by next Monday (and fresh in your mind.) I recommend reading 1 page per day and then reviewing the entire article Sunday night. Taking notes and googling unfamiliar terms as you read will help you process the article. We will use these ideals in discussions of Nickel and Dimed as well as planning our Europe trip, among other things. |

This is a writing exercise, so feel free to focus less on your personal beliefs and more on what thesis is most defensible in an essay/journal. Use evidence from both flood narratives in your response (for this simple journal entry that does not need to stand up to full academic scrutiny, you may cite the Wikipedia article.)

Prepare 1-2 minute discussion of the mostly unique features of your HS proposal. Write this on the class Google Doc (so you can see what others are saying and refer to them in sophisticated ways). This may be SHORT, but it must be POWERFUL, CLEAR, and PACKED with relevant detail. I BETTER FEEL COMPELLED TO GIVE YOU A STANDING OVATION. I NEED TO HAVE TEARS IN MY EYES WHEN I HEAR YOUR INGENUITY.
